Top of Google and Still no Sales?

It's possible to be top of Google for a lucrative keyword phrase, get plenty of traffic to your site, and still fail to make money. The plain fact is - SEO alone isn't enough.

In fact, I'll go so far as to say SEO is worthless without lead generation.

Many search engine optimisation 'experts' have a background in web development. In other words, their expertise lies in computer programming.

This type of technical expertise might be fine when it comes to manipulating content so it indexes well in search engines. But it doesn't help you with the following crucial areas...
  • Attracting the right type of visitor
  • Engaging that visitor on arrival
  • Turning interest into an actual business enquiry (i.e. generating the lead)
The key to turning a profit on your investment in SEO lies in a deep understanding of the overall web marketing process. An SEO consultant that lacks a background in the skills of direct marketing and response advertising will ultimately fail to generate leads - let alone sales.

If you find yourself at the top of Google, but lacking in sales from your website, it's time to take a long hard look at...
  • What you're ranking for
  • The page your visitors arrive on
  • What happens next
An experienced web marketing expert will know immediately where the problem lies and how to fix it.
